What months on a hardstanding does to an aircraft.

Its 2,000 metre runway is long enough to take wide-body aircraft, which is why it has become the country’s best-known site for aircraft storage and disassembly - Air Salvage International has been based here since 2000 and takes apart dozens of airframes a year. There is a Part 145 maintenance organisation on the field too. For cleaning, that mix means the aircraft we see here have usually been standing for a while, or are about to be handed to someone new.
On a fast turnaround, the clean has to fit the window you have - not the other way round.
