You sold the trip on the aircraft. The broker sold it on the photographs. Then a passenger boards, finds crumbs in the seat track and a smeared window, and that is the detail that ends up in the report back to the charterer.
A turnaround clean costs a fraction of the leg it protects. A single poor review from a broker costs the next several bookings, and you never find out which ones you did not get.
Presentation is also the cheapest differentiator you have. Two operators quoting the same aircraft on the same route are separated by the state of the cabin and how it smells when the door opens, not by the spec sheet.
The FAA lists washing as a corrosion-prevention measure in Advisory Circular 43-4B. On a hard-worked charter airframe that is not a theoretical concern, it is maintenance.
